Novel Wellness Counseling · NC, SC & LA

New chapters. Meaningful change.

Novel Wellness Counseling is a boutique private-pay therapy practice for adults, couples, and families navigating transitions, overwhelm, and the relationships that matter most — in person in Apex, Cary & the Triangle, and teletherapy across North Carolina, South Carolina & Louisiana.

Chapter One · When to reach out

Some seasons rearrange everything

A marriage under strain, a family fractured, a life that looks right on paper but no longer fits, grief or anxiety that has stopped waiting politely. You don't need someone to nod along. You need someone who will sit in it with you, see the pattern, and help you move.

Chapter Two · The approach

How therapy works here

Therapy at Novel Wellness is active. Dr. Bourque is warm, unhurried, and engaged — she'll notice what's underneath, ask the deeper question, and connect the work in the room to your actual life. You'll be genuinely known here: not a diagnosis, not a time slot — a whole person, in a real story, with real next steps.

Chapter Three · The experience

Every detail is deliberate

From the first phone call to the pacing of the work itself. Sessions are longer where depth needs room. Communication is prompt and secure. Nothing about your care is rushed, generic, or left to chance. That's the point of a small practice: you get the practice's full attention.

You'll be genuinely known here.

Chapter Four · The author of the practice

Meet Dr. Taylor Bourque

People sometimes assume therapists choose this work because we have the answers. For me, it was closer to the opposite. I became a therapist because I know what it is to sit in the middle of a chapter you did not choose — and to wish someone would sit with you in it without flinching, fixing, or hurrying you along.

My style is engaged. I'll listen deeply — and I'll also reflect what I see, ask the questions that matter, and help you take real steps. Clients tell me they leave sessions feeling both cared for and moved forward. I don't believe you should have to choose between the two.
